Mr. Abney is a litigation attorney practicing in civil, criminal, and family
law matters. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association, and the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association. He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, graduating magna cum laude, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Additionally, as an undergrad, Mr. Abney received recognition from, and was accepted into, the Golden Key National Honors Society. He is admitted to practice law before the courts in Washington D.C., the state courts of Maryland, and the U.S. Federal District Courts of Maryland.
After graduating from law School, Mr. Abney went to work as an associate attorney for a local in Montgomery County, Maryland law firm where he practiced litigation and estates & trusts. After gaining experience in those realms, Mr. Abney opened his own practice in Rockville , Maryland and quickly established a successful practice in civil, criminal, and family law matters. Mr. Abney’s firm and practice now routinely take him to Montgomery, Howard, Frederick, Anne Arundel, and Prince George’s Counties. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Abney was a member of the U.S. Army. He has been stationed with 101st Airborne Division (Ft. Campbell KY), the 82nd Airborne Division (Fayetteville, NC), and the 3rd Military Intelligence Battalion (Camp Humphrey’s, S. Korea). After his military service, and while attending school, Mr. Abney worked for a multinational, billion dollar private sector corporation as a product coordinator in tactical marketing. As a product coordinator he traveled across the country visiting various manufacturing sites where he learned how various sectors and parts of the country relate to one another and conduct business.
